Respected judges, beloved family members, good afternoon everyone! I am Zhang Xuemeng from Chaoyueba. Today, I am here to present my speech topic - 'Pure Heart Sees the Truth', emphasizing the essence of truthfulness in life.
I may not possess exceptional writing skills, but I aim to share the most authentic story of my experiences with all of you. I wonder how many of our Tengte family members belong to the post-90s generation? Can you guess the salary of your first job? Can anyone guess how much I earned in my first job per month? At 18, I ventured into the workforce and started learning automobile repairs under my uncle's guidance, who became my first mentor in the working world. Interestingly, one of my colleagues sitting among you is also my younger 'brother' - it's Xiao Ye. While working alongside Xiao Ye, I encountered technical challenges. My mentor often said to me, 'When facing difficulties, do not fear. If you fear and back down, you're the one who'll lose.' Despite dedicating two years to that job, I eventually couldn't persist. I felt that I was doing the dirtiest and most exhausting work, enduring the frustrations from customers daily. So, I decided to explore other opportunities in the world. However, what I found were teachers at every turn, each lesson teaching me something new. Yet, despite life's numerous trials, I treated life as my first love.
Throughout this journey, I never gave up. Before joining Tengte, I had worked in various roles - construction sites, as a foreman in a company, on intense production lines, and even driving forklifts. If others could do it, I could too, and if they couldn't, I wanted to challenge it. Time flew by swiftly. I joined Tengte in August last year, and in a few months, it'll be a year since then. I applied for the position of apprentice in metal polishing. It was an entirely new challenge and a skill I had never experienced before. On my first day at work, witnessing the skilled craftsmen meticulously working on each product, the factory manager explained the essential aspects of product processing, the craftsmanship requirements, and safety measures to me. At that moment, I thought, 'This doesn't seem so difficult. It's just a matter of having hands, right?' But when I actually started working, I realized that although the job appeared simple, it was remarkably challenging to execute. Here, I genuinely want to express my gratitude to our heroic factory manager and all the mentors in the polishing department. They transformed me from a novice into someone who could independently complete the processing of mirror frames. I owe this progress to the guidance of these mentors and the encouragement from our leaders.
In April this year, while working on a square tube brushed stainless steel mirror frame, something went wrong in one of the stages, resulting in rework continuously. Honestly, it shattered my morale entirely. By evening, I approached the factory manager and said, 'I don't want to work overtime tonight. I need some rest. Today's rework has completely shattered my spirits.' The factory manager immediately granted my leave without any hesitation. He then said something to me: 'Relaxing your mind allows you to accept everything.' Hearing these words instantly warmed my heart. In that moment, I felt rejuvenated. When I reflected during my downtime, I wondered, 'What keeps me going in this job?' Now, I understand it's the humane management at Tengte, mutual learning and support among colleagues, and the careful management by Director Qiu. To conclude this year's speech, borrowing a phrase from Kazuo Inamori: 'The key to success lies in your mindset. Only by adjusting your mindset to its best can you unleash your maximum potential!'
That's all I have to share. Thank you all for listening.
